Dawn Potter's essay, "Not Writing the Poem," which first appeared in winter 2012 edition of the Sewanee Review, is now available at her blog.
Here's a few lines from her concluding paragraph: "Which brings me back to Thoreau. If “the art . . . of a poet’s life, is, not
having anything to do,” then I think that perhaps we, as writers, need to
negotiate better terms with nothing."
