Yesterday I got my first acceptance of the year, three poems accepted by one mag. Yippee. Plus it was a record turnaround time: I sent the poems via email on Tuesday afternoon, and received an acceptance on Thursday morning.
What's your shortest (and longest) waiting time ever?
Believe it or not, my shortest waiting time for an acceptance was three hours! For a rejection, it was two days.
ReplyDeleteI've had acceptances nine months after submitting...as for rejections? I sent four poems to a journal three years ago...still haven't heard from them!?
Wahoo! Big congrats, Jessica. That's such a lovely feeling...hope it lasts for days and days.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy. It really does make a little blip on the screen of my week.
ReplyDeleteWow, Karen, that was a fast turnaround. For rejections, I've had a packet out to a journal since 1998. Assuming they had lost it, I sent a completely new one about 5 years later, and then testing whether they ever reply, one more (different packet) since then. The journal will remain unnamed but they continue to publish and I have yet to hear even a word about my submissions....
Wow! Can't believe it -- at least the journal I sent to (and never heard from...) is out of business. I think.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your acceptances...may many more come in 2012!
Karen,
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on your recent publication at Conte. Yay for you!
